Built-in 1929, the Walking G Guesthouse & Cow Palace served as the bank and hospital in the city of Dimmitt. Located on the city square, Walking G Guesthouse has been renovated to reflect the changes of the 21st century while appreciating the rustic traditions of the past. In 2018, Matt and Mandy Gfeller saw the potential in this historic building, and they have worked to bring this potential into a reality. The Walking G Guesthouse is a four-room, full-service bed and breakfast that offers its guests comfortable lodging, warm hospitality, and a delicious breakfast. What the small town of Dimmitt lacks in size, it more than makes up for with its charisma and sense of community. We are thrilled to invite you to share our little piece of history.
The Walking G is excited to add The Olde Hotel as our newest property. The Olde Hotel was built in 1929 as the Witt Hotel and White Rose Cafe. Later on, the Rawlins family took over and changed the name to the Rawlins hotel--rumor has it that they even added a speakeasy during prohibition . Originally a 30-room hotel, the building is now a residential facility accommodating short and long term residents. It is located 1 block east of the Walking G Guesthouse 103 NE 2nd just across from Castro County Courthouse. All guests staying in the Olde Hotel rooms enjoy all the same amenities and use of all the common areas at the Walking G Guesthouse.
